[41037] "News-Journal [Mansfield, Ohio], 23 August 1998," p. 7: "Shelby - Donald E. Weidner, 90, formerly of 98 N. Gamble St., died Saturday, Aug. 22, 1998, in Crestwood Care Center. Born March 3, 1908 in Mansfield to William and Linda (Markley) Weidner had been a Shelby resident since 1941. Mr. Weidner was employed as a union painter in the Richland County area, was a past member of the Mansfield Eagles, V.F.W. Post #291 of Shelby and had served with the U.S. National Guard from 1929 to 1940. Survivors include one stepdaughter, Catheryn Ernsberger of Clearwater, Florida; eight grandchildren including, Rita Eldridge and Dan Ernsberger both of Shelby; 15 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, nieces nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by bis wife, Faye S. Weidner on Feb. 9, 1995, one step daughter, Evelyn Poppa in 1981, tvo brothers Milton and Sherman Weidner and one sister Eunice Geirspeck."
