[1669] Rognald was apparently the last non-Rurikid (i.e. Viking) prince of Polotzk and he is father of Rogneide of Polotzk. From the Great Soviet Encyclopedia: "Prince Vladimir Sviatoslavich [of Keiv] conquered the principality [of Polotsk] at the end of the 10th century, killing the Polotskian Prince Rogvolod [and marrying Rognald/Rogvolod's daughter, Rogneide]. Vladimir later bequeathed Polotsk to his son Iziaslav."
