Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Laura Blaisdell; one son, William Blaisdell of Blue Hill; three daughters, Mrs. Maude Astbury of Penobscot, Mrs. Florence Thomas of Bar Harbor and Mrs Ida Jean Hulse of Mastic, N. Y.; 14 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren."

William Hanson, a ship builder was the third son John Hanson; born in Maine on 20 Aug. 1766, married 1.) Dorcas Milliken, born 1759 Scarborough, Cumberland, Maine daughter of Benjamin and Phebe (Jordan) Milliken, on 10 Oct. 1789 in St. Andrews Parish, Charlotte Co., NB. Dorcas descends from Scottish immigrant Hugh Milliken. After her death William remarried to 2.) Mary Simpson Libby on 10 Oct. 1811 in St. Stephen, NB. She was born on 27 Aug. 1792.
In the 1851 Canadian Census William Hanson was living in St. Stephen Parish, Charlotte Co., NB, near his son, John Hanson, was 'infirm,' and his son Moses was living with them. William Hanson died on 2 Feb. 1857 in Charlotte Co., NB, but no probate records were found for him. Mary S. (Libby) Hanson died on 2 Sept. 1865 in St. Stephen, NB. They were both buried in St. Stephen Rural Cemetery, St. Stephens Parish, Charlotte Co., NB.
