He was born Aug. 27, 1929, in Trescott, the son of Lester A. and Angie E. (Pinkham) Archer. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a past member of V.F.W. Post No. 109 of Ellsworth and Lygonia Lodge No. 40 A. F. & A. M. of Ellsworth. Henry enjoyed gardening and was devoted to his family. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia M. (Brodie) Archer of Ellsworth; four sons, Brian Archer and his wife, Amy, of Trenton, Carl Archer of Sanford, Earle Archer and his wife, Dawna, of Trenton, and G. Scott Archer and his wife, Brenda, of Ellsworth; one daughter, Vicki Beal and her husband, Doug, of Southwest Harbor; one brother, Frank Archer of New York; two sisters, Gladys Kelley of Lubec and Thelma Urquhart of Machias; 11 grandchildren, Jason, Nova, Buddy and Bobby Archer, Bethany Folsom, Aaron and Michael Archer, Laura and Christopher Archer, Shannon and Ryan Scott."

She was born June 7, 1930, in Little Deer Isle, the daughter of Elmer P. and Lucy B. (Eaton) Haskell. Christina was a lifelong resident of Little Deer Isle. She worked for 42 years at Stonington Canning Co. until it closed in the 1990s. Christina also was a wreath maker and clam digger with Randall, and helped him cut wood. She worked with Gene Eaton and Junior Joyce at their clam shucking factory for a period of time, as well as being the caretaker at Eggemoggin Inn for 30 years. Christina belonged to Galilean Gospel Temple Church, Stonington, and was the church secretary there for 25 years. She is survived by a daughter, Lorena Whitmore and her husband, Sonny, of Ellsworth; three grandchildren, Eric Whitmore and his wife, Jackie, Christine Lanphier and her husband, Rick, and Kelly Brown and her husband, Scott; four great-grandchildren, Malarie, Madison, Kyle and Kacie; a brother, Roland Haskell; two sisters, Winnifred Thompson and her husband, Phillip, of Little Deer Isle and Laurice Hardie and her husband, Billy, of Stonington; many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, Randall, Christina was predeceased by her father in 1964, her mother in 1984; a brother, Raymond Haskell in 1989; and a sister, Hazel Cooper in 1996. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, at Gray's Hill Cemetery, Little Deer Isle, with the Rev. Francis Cormier officiating."

John's obituary 13 Oct 1899 in the "Shelby News' (Shelby, OH), p. 4: "John Horner, a citizen and lifelong resident of Shelby, died at the family home, corner of Broadway and Whitney avenue, Friday evening, of dropsy, aged 73 years, 5 months and 14 days. Mr. Horner was born in Cumberland county, Md., April 22, 1826, and at the age of 9 years removed with his mother to Mansfield, where he resided for several years. During the year 1848 he came to Shelby and in 1850 was married to Ellen M. Rogers. To this happy union were born nine children, five of whom still survive. They are Will and Lorenzo of this city; Mrs. Emma Rambo, of Elk Falls, Kansas; Mrs. Ervin Shearer and Mrs. C. Gates, both of Shelby. The funeral was held at the late residence of the deceased, Sunday afternoon at one o'clock, conducted by the Rev. Mr. McClay. of the M.E. church, and was largely attended. Interment at Oakland cemetery."
