He retired after 35 years as a supervisor of the coating lab for St Regis Paper Co., Bucksport. He was a member Abutus Grange, Surry; Governor Brooks Lodge No. 142 IOOF Brooksvllle, and was an avid hunter. Survivors include three sons, Roland L. of Orland, Douglas B. of Lyman and E. Wayne of Blue Hill; two daughters, Margurite A. Breau of Hampden and Lorraine L. Howard of Orrington; three brothers, Berwyne "Bood' Hoyt and Charles, all of Penobscot, who gave so much love and support through Lloyd's illness; 11 grandchildren, two great-grandsons, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Phyllis Annette on March 22, 1987."
