[61297] Ronald's obituary: "He was a 1958 graduate of Berwick Academy in South Berwick, Maine, where he played basketball and football. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve in high school and was honorably discharged after completing more than two years of service. He enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he earned a commission as a second lieutenant and was discharged as a captain after serving more than seven years of combined military service. Ron was a graduate of the University of Maine, where he earned undergraduate and graduate degrees. He completed doctoral coursework at the University of Dayton and Vanderbilt University. He spent 25 years as a teacher and administrator in the Bangor, Maine, school system, retiring in 1991 as vice principal at Bangor High School. Ron taught and served as an administrator at a North Carolina Community College and as Dean of Art and Sciences at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith. He was an active member of both state and national educational organizations in Maine and North Carolina and was a proud member of Kappa Delta Phi fraternity. Ron was a 50-year member of the Olive branch Lodge of Masons and held membership as a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, as well as all York Rite degrees. He belonged to Anah Shrine in Bangor, Maine, where he served on the Second Section Degree Team for many years. Ron enjoyed his retirement years traveling throughout the United States by RV, raising his beloved golden retrievers, and driving and showing his numerous Corvettes."
[22574] "Oxford lllustrated History of Medieval Europe" (NY: Oxford Press, 1988), p. 212 gives her as wife of Tancred and states that they also had William of the Principate, Lord of Salerno (who had Richard of the Principate) and Roger I, Count of Sicily (1072-1101) who m. as her first husband Adelaide and had Roger II, King of Sicily (1130-1154) - the chart on p. 212 contines this line. http://www.danbyrnes.com.au/lostworlds/features/women.htm states that Tancred "married the illegitimate Cecilia Capet, daughter of Philip Capet (1053-1108), de Courtenay, Philip the Fair, King of France." http://www.geneajourney.com/nrmndy.html offers: "Seen also as Fredesende, Fressende, and Fressendis, there is disagreement as to her placement as a daughter of Duke Richard I. Her husband, Tancred of Hauteville was first married to one Muriella, and secondly to Fredesina. By this first marriage, Tancred had a son William, of whom exists a record which calls William 'nepos' (literal translation, nephew) of Richard, Duke of Normandy. A second record calls Tancred and Fredesina's son, Robert Guiscard, 'nepos' of RIchard, Duke of Normandy. Both Muriella and Fredesina are believed to have been either sisters, or aunt and niece, as Muriella appears to have been close to a generation older than Fredesina. Some believe they were sisters and both daughters of Duke Richard I, or of Duke Richard II, while others believe Muriella was the daughter of Richard I, and Fredesina was daughter of Richard II. See soc.genealogy.medieval for a discussion of these issues."
[50985] Mary is said to be daughter of Josiah Keith (1706-1759) & Ruth Manley (1711-1784; m. about 1729 in Easton, Bristol Co., MA).
