She had lived in Ottawa co. since she was ten years age. Two sons and two daughters survive her."

Melvin was born in Hermon, Maine, on December 13, 1946, to the late Earle and Florence (Murphy) Getchell. In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by a sister: Frances Woodbury. Melvin is survived by his four children: Timothy Getchell of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Todd Getchell, and Tammie Lewis both of Spring Lake, NC, and Penny LaFord of New Hampshire, two brothers: James Getchell of Maine, and Dana Getchell of California, eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and several other family members. He will be greatly missed."
