"Bobby" Arey Sr., 73, passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, with his family by his side at his home in Penobscot. Robert was born Oct. 21, 1940, in Castine, to W. Lloyd and Marie Clement Arey. Robert was a plumber, paper maker, farmer, and avid hunter. He enjoyed hunting (coyotes and deer), telling stories and trips around the square. Robert is survived by and will be missed by his wife of 53 years, Sylvia Wardwell Arey; son, Robert L. Arey Jr. and wife, Diana, of Penobscot; son, George Arey and wife, Rachel, of Boston; granddaughters, Kimberly McGinty and husband, Chris, of Orland, Matilda and Eleanor Arey of Boston; grandson, Joshua Coombs of Barre, Mass.; great-granddaughters, Zoey and Erin McGinty of Orland; two sisters; two brothers-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, and friends."
