Herb was a lobster fisherman and spent much of his career fishing out of Bunkers Harbor on his boat, Minnie M. Even though Herb didnt have children of his own, he was blessed with two very special people that he treated and loved as his own; nephew, Jon Chipman and niece, Nicole Thomas. Herb enjoyed hunting, fishing, and most of all, ice fishing. Survivors include his brothers, George W. Chipman and wife, Rebecca S.; Albert Chipman and wife, Betty; nephew Jon Chipman and his family; niece Nicole Thomas and her family; sisters-in-law, Annabelle and Alice; his special friend, Bonnie; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. He was predeceased by both of his parents, Edgar E. Chipman and Minnie M. (Beal) Chipman; brothers Roger, Avery, Leamon, Vint, Maynard and sister Mildred."
