Born May 4, 1950, in Houlton, she was the daughter of the late Richard Birmingham and Leona Duffy Brewer. She married her loving husband of 44 years on April 8, 1972, and they resided in Cape Elizabeth for the past 38 years. In 1986, she left her full-time job in order to devote her time to raising her two daughters and to providing a loving home for her family. Mary's priorities were always within her home, as she loved the life she lived there. Being with her family was when she was her happiest. It was not uncommon to receive a care package in the mail, or a home-cooked meal at your door, just to remind you that she loved you. Her gifts always came with a handwritten note, in her beautiful, cursive writing, for which she became known. Mary loved being a grandmother to her only grandchild. The joy was undeniable when the two of them were together, as she taught her to cook, told her silly stories, or simply made her laugh in a way that only she could. She will be deeply missed by her granddaughter (who affectionately called her 'Grandmary'). She loved the ocean, and found peace there when times were difficult. She also had a fond connection to nature and all of the beauty in her backyard. She appreciated so many gifts in this world that others might take for granted. She often felt that the hawks, hummingbirds, and blue birds that visited her were a sign of peace and love from above. Mary was predeceased by her parents, Richard Birmingham and Leona Brewer; and her brother, Richard 'Dicky' Birmingham. She is survived by her husband; her daughter, and only granddaughter; her daughter, and fiance; sisters; her brother, and her aunt, as well as several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly."

Frank is survived by his partner, Elaine White of Bangor; his sons, Coty Wardwell of Washington, D.C., and Casey Wardwell of Holden, along with his daughter-in-law, Amanda Wardwell; his grandson, Oliver Byron Wardwell; his sister-in-law, Patti Rump; his sister-in-law, Paulette Wardwell; and his brother-in-law, Jerome Andrews. He is also remembered by his many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Frank was predeceased by his parents, Ruth (Colby) Wardwell and William 'Bill' Wardwell; as well as his siblings, Joyce (Wardwell) Andrews, James Wardwell, Timothy Wardwell, and Ellen (Wardwell) McElvain and brother-in-law, William 'Bill' McElvain, and Dana Wardwell."
