[60807] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 23 June 2018: "Bucksport - Norman Parker Soper, 87, left us peacefully at his home on Thursday, June 21, 2018. 'Parker' to his family and friends was a lifelong resident of Bucksport. He was born on October 22, 1930, to Norman 'Ted' and Doris (Harriman) Soper. He was a 1949 Bucksport High School graduate. Parker then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force from 1950-54. Parker was employed at the Bucksport Paper Mill for 37 years. He was a member of American Legion Post #93. Parker's passion was printing on his antique Golding presses for many local businesses, family, and friends. He printed various business and Christmas cards, wedding invitations, and announcements, and much more. He built his own home and enjoyed woodworking, especially in his retirement years. He enjoyed the company of many pets throughout his lifetime, especially his little dog, JiJi. Parker will be remembered for his great laugh and silly sense of humor. Parker is survived by his son, David and his wife, Donna, of Dedham; his daughter, Edith (Soper) Colston, of Bucksport; his grandchildren, Mandy Croft and her husband, Chris, Mia Lenfest and her husband, Ryan, and Joshua Soper; and his great-grandchildren, Ciera, Cassy, Alina, and Brielle; as well as his great-great-granddaughter, Isabella, and many special nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, Parker was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Nola (Sherman) Soper, and his sisters, Caroline and Margaret."
