[57155] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 4 September 2024: "Greenbush - Beryle Cowing McLaughlin, 99, peacefully left this life to be with her Savior on September 2, 2024, with family by her side at a Bangor health care facility. She was born April 24, 1925, in Lagrange, ME, a daughter of Charles Earl and Frances Bayard (Hanscom) Cowing. She met her future husband, Clifford Emery McLaughlin, Christmas Eve 1941 (set up by their respective sisters). She worked as a statistician for the War Production Board in Washington, D.C., during WWII. Beryle was an avid reader and was known to read multiple books in one day. Her love of stats continued on throughout her life and as a lifelong, Red Sox, NASCAR, and Golf fan, her stats could rival those of ESPN. She was a founding member of the Faith Bible Church of Olamon and belonged to many clubs. On March 16, 2017, she was awarded the Boston Gold Post Cane for the town of Greenbush. She is survived by six children, Richard McLaughlin, Linda (McLaughlin) Cook, Robert McLaughlin and his wife, Dahiana, Betty (McLaughlin) Violette and her husband, John, Reginald McLaughlin and his wife, Debbie, and Laura (McLaughlin) Robertson; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Clifford in 1987; three sisters, Helen, Ada, and Ivis; three brothers, Shirley, Lawrence, and Leigh; daughters-in-law, Pam McLaughlin and Deborah McLaughlin; and son-in-law, Ricky Cook."
