His parentage and ancestry are unknown. Henry of Barnstable is now the earliest known ancestor of his entire line." Virginia Horler offers: "Most men of Kent were farmers in an area famous for hops, fruit and grain. Even in this age, importance was attached to the idea of status. The term "Yeoman" was commonly used in legal and other documents to denote status above "Husbandman" (smaller, less prosperous farmer) and below that of "Gentleman" (upper middle class). Yeomen, from whom Henry Cobb was descended, were reasonably well educated. Some Yeomen sons attended the universities; some became clergymen. A review of the pedigrees of the Cobbs of Kent and a personal inspection of the Manor houses at Reculver and Eastleigh Court suggest 16th century gentry but 17th century Yeomen. The major inheritance, by custom, probably went to Benjamin Cobb, the first-born son. The Cobb home at Reculver was about 15 miles from Egerton, Ken where Lothrop was in residence from 1611-1623. Henry Cobb was himself censured by the establishment. He had become Lord of the Manor of Bishopstone, Reculver Kent, when his father Richard died in 1582. In the record of the Visitations of the Archdeacon of Canterbury in 1599 is found the following: "We present these persons whose names are hereunder written for they refuse to pay unto a access made by divers of our parish for the reparation of our said church:....Henry Cobb 3 shillings, 10 pence (owed). He married (2) Mary Avery, married 1612 in Reculver, Kent, England, b. 1580 in Reculver, Kent, England, d. 1642 in Reculver, Kent, England."

[55153] Leon's onituary: "Leon G. Perkins, 77, passed away Nov. 27, 2003, at a Bangor hospital. He was born April 26, 1926, in Orono, the son of Leon and Josephine M.B. Perkins. Leon attended Orono schools and was a lifelong resident of that town. He served as a corpsman in the U.S. Navy during World War II, was then employed as a manager/foreman for the Wheelwright 'Nokomis' Farm for 31 years and served local communities in public service for many years. He loved to share special memories with family and friends of hunting, fishing and camping trips with longtime friends Larry, Bobby, Roy, and Alan Thurston. He is survived by his loving companion of 21 years, Ramona H. McPherson (Mom II); and loving and devoted father of Leon 'Sandy' Perkins of Freeport, Glenn A. Perkins and his wife, Lisa, of Brownville, Thomas J. Perkins and his wife, Stephanie, of Orono, Susan M. Rice and her husband, Leonard, of Glenburn, Gary McPherson of Levant, Craig D. McPherson of Levant, Mark McPherson and his wife, Michele, of Levant, Susan Young and her husband, Jackie, of Corea; 11 grandchildren, Heather, Nathan, Molly, Katie, Derek, Dustin, Devin, Brandon, Abbie Perkins, Amanda and Sheree Rice; two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Jay; one sister, Elvira 'Sis' LaGassey; and one niece, Kathy LaGassey of Arlington, Va. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary S. Perkins. Your children are very appreciative for the many life experiences that weve shared and for the lifelong values that you have instilled in us. Thank you Dad, you will be in our hearts forever."

The unverified Laura's Washburn Family Tree in Ancestry.com in 2015 offers: "When Seth Washburn was born on August 2, 1751, in Middleborough, Massachusetts, his father was 30, and his mother was 22. He married _______ Dunbar on July 21, 1772, in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. They had 10 children in 21 years. He died on October 9, 1799, in Woodstock, Vermont, at the age of 48, and was buried there."
