She was past 48 years of age. Funeral services were held this morning and interment was made in the Ganges cemetery."

[34657] "The Perry County Democrat, 1 August 1900," p. 3: "Samuel Tressler, one of the oldest and best-known citizens of Juniata township, died at his home at Milford, at four o'clock on Sunday afternoon, aged about 83 years. He had been in poor health for some time past from the infirmities incident to old age. Mr. Tressler was twice married. His first wife's maiden name was Barbara Lenig. Two sons survive, namely: Henry L. Tressler, of Newport, and T. W. Tressler of Juniata township. Two daughters, one of them Mrs. Miller, of Newport, are dead. He is also survived by his second wife and four brothers and four sisters. William Tressler, of this borough, and David Tressler, of Centre township, are brothers of the deceased. The funeral will be at 10 o'clock on Wednesday morning; interment at Milford."

He was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the Buckeye Iron Will Club. He loved gardening and enjoyed making latch-hook rugs. Survivors include his wife, Helen (Iceman) White, whom he wed October 25, 1938; his five children and their spouses; Ann and Doug Hedrick of Shelby, Wilbur E. "Gene" and Judy White of Bellevue; Roger and Joan White of Dublin, Mary Alice and Joe Platt of Martel, OH; and Susan and Jim Rabold of Los Alamos, NM; 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorotha Hochenshilt of Shelby, nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
