[28942] Susan's obituary: "Word was received at Shelby yesterday morning that Mrs. Adam Weiser had died at Fostoria, whither she had gone on a visit. Mrs. W. had been afflicted by a cancerous growth in one of her eyes, and the eye and tumor had been successfully removed last spring, but of late the cancer returned and it is supposed caused her death. Mrs. W. was one of the pioneers of Richland County and was highly respected. The remains will be brought to her home at Shelby today and the funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon at London Lutheran Church, to which denomination the deceased belonged. Mrs. Weiser formerly lived in the adjoining township of Cass and was, a near neighbor of Jacob Sheeley, who died on the same day and whose funeral will also take place tomorrow at London Church. Both were well known pioneer residents of Richland County. -- [Richland Shield & Banner: 13 July 1889, Vol. LXXII, No. 8]" Susan is daughter of John Bender (b. 17 Jan 1790, d. 6 Jan 1874) and Susan _____ (b. 13 Feb 1793, d. 24 Feb 1877) according to the unverified OneWorldTree in Ancestry.com in 2011.

[53856] Charles is also seen Edward C. Conner and is son of Samuel B. Conner (b. in 1834) & Bethenia (or Parthenia) Quimby (b. in 1835). Samuel, a widower, r. in the household of Edward C. Conner in the 1 June 1900 federal census in Auburn, Androscoggin Co., ME. "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 11 August 1932, p. 4: "Castine, Aug. 10 - Charles Edward Conner, whose death occurred Monday, was born in Penobscot, early coming to Castine where his boyhood was spent, later moving to Brockton where lived for several years. For 47 years he was manager of one of the departments of the United Shoe Machinery Company of Auburn where he owned a fine home. Although being away from Castine all these years his thoughts were ever drifting back to the old town, always planning to return with Mrs. Conner who was a native of Castine being the daughter of the late Jerry Hatch. Two yean ago his opportunity came and purchasing land in Water street he had built a fine home which was hardly completed when he taken away. Seldom has a man come into the community for such a short time who made so many friends. He leaves beside his wife, his daughter, Mrs. G. C. Baldwin of Connecticut; his son, Kenneth of Auburn; his sister, Mrs. Alice Moore of Brockton, Mass. and one brother, Dr. Connor of Massachusett,s with seven grandchildren and other relatives. Mr, Conner was a member of the Ancient Brothers lodge of Auburn and of the Lewiston Commandry of Knights of Templars."
