[37231] See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Clark_(Connecticut_colonial_leader) which reports: "Daniel Clark (1622-1710) was the fourth Secretary of the Colony of Connecticut, from 1658-1664 and 1665-1667, and holder of various offices in colonial Connecticut. Clark was born in Tarvin, Cheshire, England in 1622. In 1639, he immigrated to America with his uncle and resided in Windsor, Connecticut. He was a representative to the General Court from 1657-1661, member of the Court of Assistants from 1662-1664, in addition to serving as Secretary of the Colony. He was also a member of the committee to appoint and commission officers of the militia and the Committee to Advise the Indians. In 1662, he was one of the 19 signers and grantees of the Connecticut Charter, and in 1664 he was commissioned as captain in the Colonial Troops, serving in King Philip's War. . . ." See "The Register" (Boston: New England Historic Genealogical Society, Summer 2019), Vol. 173, p208-219 for an extended discussion of this family which revises some of the information.

[12310] John r. Chesawardine, Salop. http://www.aritek.com/hartgen/htm/valois.htm (not verified) offers a line of descent from John and Joan. "Massachusetts and Maine Families, Volume I, Beaumont, of Wednesbury," on the Web at genealogy.com, p. 154: "John Lestrange, son and heir, was commander of the castle of Montgomery in 1260 and 1265. He married Joan, daughter of Roger de Somery by Nichole, daughter of William d'Aubigny, Earl of Arundel, by Mabel, sister and heiress of Ranulf, Earl of Chester. He died, probably by drowning, before Feb. 26, 1275/6." Cf. "The Family, Vol. 1," p. 516 on-line at http://www.electricscotland.com/webclans/minibios/c/FAMILY_BOOK_VolI.pdf.

[11754] Find A Grave Memorial 157300151 offers: "Sir William de Marmion Knight, son of Robert 'The Younger' Marmion, VI of Winteringham, Magna Carta Surety and Avice/Alice de Tanfield, was born in 1212 and died aged 64 years, by 1276, at Chilham Castle, Kent, England. Before June 7, 1248, at same location alluded to above, he got married aged 36 years, with Lorette/Laurette/Lora de Dover, born in 1222, daughter of Richard Fitz Roy also known as Richard de Warenne and Richard de Chilham and Rohese/Rhoysia/Rose de Dover. They had at least one child: John de Marmion. He was under age in 1243 and in the custody of William de Cauntelo. On 30 Apr 1251 he quit claimed to the Prioress of Fosse the advowson of the church of Willingham in county Lincoln. He was knighted, apparently at the occasion of the knighting of Prince Edward. He was in the service of the King in 1259 in France. He took the side of the Barons against Henry III, and, as a supporter of Simon de Montfort, was summoned to Parliament 24 Dec 1264. He was among the "disinherited" who were admitted to the Kings peace July 1, 1267, and pardoned for their trespasses. He was deceased by 1276, when his son, John, did homage to the Abbot of Peterborough "
