Clark's obituary: "Sherman - Clark Walter Lakeman, 75, passed away in Sherman on Saturday, October 1, 2022. He was born in Millinocket, Maine, July 22, 1947, to Walter and Elizabeth (Innis) Lakeman. After graduating from Schenck High School he went to work for Great Northern Paper Mill in East Millinocket. His career spanned 44 years. He held many jobs throughout those years, and gleaned many friendships. Due to cancer he retired in 2006. He served 20 year in the Maine Army National Guard, and was a life time member of the Free Masons, Nollesemic Lodge in Millinocket earning his 50 year pin. Clark was an accomplished artist, singer/songwriter and storyteller. He produced three music CDs, wrote and illustrated two published books as well as many successful endeavor. He spoke so fondly of his childhood in Medway and all the friends he grew up with. Recalling his time spent camping and singing with his brothers at Yawdem always made him laugh, as did the many adventure he had with George McLaughlin and Ronnie Moore. He loved his time hunting and fishing with family and friends. In later years he created the CW Lakeman School of Music along with his partner, Cheryl Lovely, at Mini Music in Houlton. Nothing made him happier than putting a musical instrument into the hands of a child. Clark is survived by his two children, Erica and Matthew Lakeman both of Medway; two grandchildren, Saige Lakeman of Lincoln and Ashton Walton of Medway; a special friend, Holly McNally; and his beloved dog and constant companion, Towser Joe; a niece; nephews; and many cousins; and his wonderful friend, Pat Provenzano, who was always ready and willing to drive him wherever he wanted to go. His kindness and patients will forever be appreciated. Clark was preceeded in death by his parents; two brothers, Theodore and Joseph Wildes; and two sisters, Gloria Swanson and Barbara Wildes. He will be forever missed by all who knew him."
