She married Albert Edward John Spencer, 7th Earl Spencer on February 26, 1919. He was styled as Viscount Althorp between 1910 and 1922 and was known as "Jack". To this union two children were born; Lady Anne Spencer born 1920 and Captain Edward John Spencer, 8th Earl Spencer born 1924. Through her marriage, Lady Cynthia was styled as Viscountess Althorp on February 1919 and Countess Spencer on September 22, 1922. Cynthia was invested as an Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1943 and in 1953 she was invested as a Dame Commander, Royal Victorian Order (D.C.V.O.). Cynthia was a Lady of the Bedchamber to Queen Elizabeth from 1937 until her death at Althorp due to a brain tumor in 1972."
