[9242] The Sentinel [Carlisle, PA], 20 February 1980, p. 8: Lester A. Billman, 79, 1837 Sterretts Gap Ave., died Tuesday in Carlisle Hospital. He was born in Kansas and resided most of his life in the Carlisle area. He was a retired businessman, formerly owning and operating the Village Food Market on Spring Road, was formerly employed by Cochran and Allen Hardware Store, and formerly attended the Old Carlisle Farmers Market, was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and played in the church orchestra, was a member of the men's Bible class and taught the Ladies Home Bible ciass. He was a member of Gideons International and was a member and past president of the Cumberland County Camp. Surviving are his wife, Anna Lutz Billman; four sons, Chester W. Billman, 114 Marbeth Ave., Edward L. Billman, 137 Marbeth Ave., John H. Billman, Big Spring Heights, Newville, and Robert L. Billman, Beach Creek; a daughter, Sharon L. Kunkel, RD1 Boiling Springs; a sister, Stella E. Kann, RD1 Newville; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
