[59722] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 11 May 2023: "Medway and Montville, Maine - Hester D. Caswell, 88, wife of the late Samuel J. Caswell Sr., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. She was born May 16, 1934, in Medway, the daughter of Lloyd L. and Viola S. (Burleigh) Downs. Hester grew up in Medway, and attended school there. Hester's life revolved around her family, whether it be attending her children's and grandchildren's sporting and school events, family get-togethers, or spending time playing cards and working crossword puzzles. She was a member of the Calvary Temple Assembly of God in East Millinocket, for over 60 years and considered her church family her family. Hester touched the lives of those in her family and community in countless ways, and her impact will be felt by many for years to come. She is survived by five children, Sam Caswell Jr., Lester Caswell and his wife, Kathy, Wendy Pennell and her husband, Arthur Fuller, Viola DeWitt, and Jo Beth Caswell; eight grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Emily Kelly and Charity Tucker; a brother, Jack Downs; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Hester will also be missed by a special friend, Phyllis Fuller and her son, Jeff; and a special niece, Judy Curtis. In addition to her parents and her husband, Hester was predeceased by a son, Roger Caswell; four brothers, Gary Downs, Henry Downs, Harold Downs, and Lloyd 'Buck' Downs; and a sister, Judy Barlow."
