[47796] Find A Grave memorial 173282251 offers Katherine's obituary: "Katherine Wollter, 88, of State Line Road in Morenci, died Monday morning, Nov. 28, 2016, at her home, surrounded by her loving family, and under the care of Great Lakes Caring Hospice. Born Feb. 22, 1928, she was the only daughter of the late Estel and Hila (Lyons) Eldredge. Katherine, a graduate of Morenci High School, was a lifelong resident of Morenci. She was a 39-year employee of the former A&P Company, and worked at several stores in the regional district, including the Morenci store. She was the very first female manager in the district, and she retired in 1991. Katherine had a lifelong love of learning, and took several correspondence courses over the years, of which included obtaining her license to sell real estate. Katherine was a long-time member of the Morenci First Congregational Church and served the church in many capacities, including church treasurer and her current role as a member of its board of trustees. She also served previously as president of the church's Ladies Union. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and was a supportive member of the Friends of Stair District Library, and also served on its board. A beloved mother and grandmother, Katherine is remembered for her love of reading, which she passed down through the generations of her family. She also enjoyed sewing. Surviving are her son, William J. (Fleurette Slayton) of Morenci; daughter, Patricia (Dwight) Houttekier of Morenci; five grandchildren, Michael (Maria) Wagner, Diane (Carmen) Moliterno, Kristina (Eric) DeMeritt, Kandice Jarrell and Billi Jo (Arthur) Erbskorn; 11 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and her beloved feline companion, Patches. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Francis "Pappy" Eldredge and Sgt. Major Thomas Eldredge; two great-grandchildren, Atlee and Chaney DeMeritt; and the love of her life, Larry Disbrow."

She died as she wished, at home in the loving arms of her family, with her beloved pets by her side. Gail was born on July 11, 1960, in Lewistown. Her father, David Byler Esh, preceded her in death. Her mother, Reba Ritzman Esh, of Port Royal, survives. Gail is also survived by: her husband, Robert; her son, Noah James and wife, Patricia; her daughter, Jennifer Leah and husband, Christopher; three grandsons; a granddaughter; a brother; two sisters; an aunt; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Gail was a 1978 graduate of Juniata High School, Mifflintown, where, as a majorette in the marching band, she was noted for twirling her fire baton. She also attended Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, where she was a preveterinary major. Gail, who grew up on a farm, loved animals of all kinds. She rescued and provided a home for dozens of animals. She fostered and found homes for dozens more. She is survived by two of the cats whose lives she saved, Winston and Phoebe Louise. She loved them like children. Gail's favorite calico cat K.K., blind, deaf and 15 years old, was by Gail's side until the end. K.K. died herself two days later, on May 24, 2013. Gail worked for nearly 30 years as a civilian employee of the Navy in Mechanicsburg. She started as a clerk typist, and later worked her way up through numerous information technology positions, working most recently as an Oracle Database administrator. She was a skilled problem-solver with superb customer service skills and loved her job. She held several professional certifications and received numerous workplace peer awards. She was also an accomplished cook who loved to feed friends and family, especially with the fresh produce and herbs she grew in her organic garden. In addition, Gail was an enthusiastic seamstress who made many quilts, flannel blankets and knitted items for friends and family, including hand-knitted custom cat toys and beds for their pets. Gail loved good books, good music, good movies and was a ferocious competitor at backgammon and Scrabble. Metastatic breast cancer took Gail's life. She bore the suffering of her disease with equanimity and grace. She never lost her sense of humor. When she discovered that her time was limited, she set two goals for the remaining months and weeks of her life, and then accomplished them. She attended her daughter's wedding, and held her first granddaughter. Gail was open and accepting. She radiated love. As a result, many loved her and many will miss her."

[60331] Sylvia's obituary: "Prospect Harbor - Sylvia passed away peacefully April 8, 2024, at Narraguagus Bay Health Care, Milbridge with family at her side. She was born at Prospect Harbor, the daughter of Elaine and George Lowell, Jr. She graduated from Sumner Memorial High School in Sullivan, Class of 1953, and lived a full life as housewife and mother. Sylvia worked in the kitchen at Ella Lewis Elementary School in Steuben and was receptionist/bookkeeper at Prospect Harbor Trading Company, the business her husband, Donald managed. Sylvia was an active member of the local Pythian Sisters Temple, holding many offices, but she was most proud to have held the office of Grand Chief of the State of Maine, 1997-1998. She was a member of Prospect Harbor Women's Club, Eastern Star, Petit Manan Ambulance, Peninsula Pet Program, and SOS club. Sylvia so enjoyed her time with family and friends at gatherings and holidays—Christmas was her season. Donald and Sylvia spent most of their time traveling with the Anah Temple Shrine Lobster Boat Unit to conventions and parades. The family's summer address was Spring River Lake, Black Woods Road, Franklin. June to September everyone knew where to find the family. She is survived by daughters, Gail Smith, Lynn Whalen and partner, Bruce Rich, and daughter, Eva Smith; grandson, Dakota Robinson; son-in-law, Wayne Robinson; brother, Herbert and wife, Rita Lowell; in-laws, Alice Grace, Horace and Gerry Smith, and Judy Smith; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Sylvia was predeceased by husband, Donald L. Smith; daughters, Kathy Robinson and Janet Smith; parents, Elaine and George Lowell, Jr.; brother, Bradley and his wife, Becky Lowell, and their son, Austin Lowell; In-laws, Elizabeth Palmer Smith and Lee Smith, Sr., Irving and Margaret Smith, Doris and Listen Grant, Ralph and Lorraine Smith, Richard Grace, Eben Smith, Lee, Jr., and Pearl Smith, Leah Smith, and Julian and Imogene Leighton.
