[12072] Through Mélisende's marriage, the royal line continued. http://www.guide2womenleaders.com/womeninpower/Womeninpower1100.htm offers: "The daughter King Baldwin II of Jerusalem (d.1131) and his Armenian wife Morphia (d.1129). In 1128 she was designated as her fathers successor and began her reign with him. In 1129 she married Fulk V of Anjou (France). In 1131, they became joint rulers of Jerusalem until he launched a war against her. But her forces prevailedand she insisted on strong peace-terms, which included her admission to the inner councils of the kingdom. After Fulk's death Melisende became regent for her 13 year old son, Baldwin. 1145 was the year Baldwin was to celebrate the attainment of his majority. Melisende ignored the date, easing him out of every place of influence, omitting his name from public acts. Her son Baldwin would not agree to this and once again the Kingdom of Jerusalem was divided - this time between the supporters of Melisende and those of her son. A compromise was reached before open war between the two broke out - The Kingdom was to be divided between mother and son - Melisende would rule Judea and Samaria, whilst her son Baldwin governed all the North. Soon, however, it was realized that the Kingdom could not be ruled in the manner and Melisende was soon deserted by nobility. Faced with this loss of support, she finally yielded to her son Baldwin in around 1152. Even though she retained Nablus as part of the settlement, she retired from politics, though she did remained her son's closest adviser. When her son Baldwin was absent during the many wars that plagued the Kingdom, Melisende acted a regent."

[61572] "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine], " 27 February 2026: "Ralph A. Gray Sr., 91, passed away peacefully at his home in Orland on Feb. 21, 2026. He was born in Orland on Jan. 18, 1935, the son of Beulah (Conary) and Manley Gray. Ralph loved to be outside, whether working, tinkering on equipment in his garage, or enjoying the great outdoors hunting and fishing. He was a man who preferred to stay close to home but with a little persuading did make it to Alaska on a fishing trip and to Canada hunting. He was always there for a friend or member of his community in need. Ralph also gave back to the community as a member of the Orland Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years. He also served as the town of Orlands Constable for many years."

Albert ("Bert") was a Maine Guide, trapper and sportcamp operator. He drowned on Little Jo-Mary Lake while crossing it with a client. He operated his camp, Buckhorn Camp, built in 1895 with his brother, Guy, at the outlet of Middle Jo-Mary Lake - see http://www.buckhorncampsmaine.com.. Bert and Guy had prevously resided in Hancock Co., ME at Eagle Lake and Nicatou Lake where they operated a sporting camp and logged, and they came to the Middle Jo-Mary Lake via Norcross. Guy left their partnership in 1901 to establish his own sporting camp. Bert and Nellie spent their honeymoon by train to Norcross and then paddled by canoe around the lakes to select the best location for the camp. Bert and Guy built branch camps on other lakes.
For a description of the camps and their life there, see "Within Katahdin's Realm: Log Drives and Sporting Camps - Chapter 11: On Chief Jo-Mary's Lands . . . ," William W. "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 2 June 1927, p. 6: "On Saturday morning, May 28, Dr. James P. Russell of Brewer and Bert Haynes of Bangor, a famous guide, started on a fishing trip from Buck Horn Camps at Middle Jo Mary lake, of which Haynes is owner. At night they had not returned, and as late as Wednesday evening they still were missing. Searching parties have been out since Saturday night, and on Wednesday morning the canoe in which the missing men had started was found overturned on the shore of Lower Joe Mary lake, and in it were Dr. Russell's fishing tackle and lunch kit. Search for the missing men is yet In progress, but faint hope is held out for their safety, it being generally believed that both were drowned. Albert B. Haynes, the missing guide, resides at 73 Cottage street, Bangor. He has been at his camps at Middle Jo Mary since May 1. While expert at fishing and woodcraft, he was unable to swim, and his wife, while still hopeful of his safety, said last night that she feared he had been drowned. They have two married daughters and a son, Jasper. Dr. James P. Russell is one of Brewer's best known practicing physicians and has always been interested and familiar with fishing conditions on lakes and ponds in the state. He has a wife and two sons, one in the high school, and the other younger. He has lived in Brewer for about 10 years and has built up a large practice by faithful attention to business and his sympathetic understanding of conditions. The community was saddened by the report of the mishap which was current Wednesday, and further particulars are being anxiously awaited by all who knew him."
