[21341] In 2007 http://www.fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/GERMANY,%20Kings.htm offers: "Judith [Maria/Sophia] ([1054]-14 Mar [1092/96]). The Annales of Berthold record the betrothal in 1059 of 'Andreas Pannoniæ rex…filio suo Salomoni adhuc puero' and 'sororem eius [Heinrici regis] minorem Iuditham'. The Annales Yburgenses refer to the wife of 'Ungariam…[rex] Salemannum' as 'regis Heinrici sororem'. The 'Gesta Hungarorum' records that King András forced the marriage of 'Salomoni regi' and 'Henricus imperator…Sophiam suam filiam', specifying that she had earlier been betrothed to 'filio regis Franciæ'. Having left Hungary for Germany after her husband was deposed in 1074, she was living in Regensburg when her husband attempted to reclaim the Hungarian throne. She refused to receive him when he returned in 1083. Her second marriage is confirmed by the 'Chronicæ Polanorum' which records that King W?adys?aw married 'sororem imperatoris tertii Henrici, uxorem prius Salemonis Ungariæ regis'. The 'Chronicon Polono-Silesiacum' specifies her name 'Iudite'. The necrology of Weltenburg records the death 'II Id Mar' of 'Iudita de Polonia soror Heinrici imperatoris IV'. The necrology of Regensburg St Emmeran records the death 'II Id Mar' of 'Iudita regina'. [Betrothed ([1055/59]) to Philippe de France, son of Henri I King of France & his third wife Anna Iaroslavna of Kiev (1052-château de Melun, Seine-et-Marne 30 Jul 1108, bur Abbaye Saint Benoît-sur-Loire). The 'Gesta Hungarorum' records that King András forced the marriage of 'Salomoni regi' and 'Henricus imperator…Sophiam suam filiam', specifying that she had earlier been betrothed to 'filio regis Franciæ'. This could only refer to the future Philippe I King of France as it is unlikely that the emperor's daughter would have been betrothed to his younger brother. This betrothal is not corroborated in the western European primary sources so far consulted. He succeeded his father in 1060 as Philippe I King of France. m firstly (betrothed 1059, early 1063) Salomon King of Hungary, son of András I 'the Catholic' King of Hungary & his second wife Anastasia Iaroslavna of Kiev (1052-killed in battle 1087). m secondly ([1089]) as his second wife, Wladyslaw I Herman Prince of Poland, son of Kazimierz I Karol 'Odnowiciel/the Renewer' Prince of Poland & his wife Dobronega Maria Vladimirovna of Kiev ([1043]-4 Jun 1102)."

[6824] Theodore is son of Oliver Wendell Holmes (b. 18 Sept 1887 at Eastport, ME) and Martha R. McCleary (b. 5 July 1886 at Wakefield, MA). Theodore served in the U. S. Air Force during World War II. He taught mathematics at Portland (ME) High School. Find A Grave memorial 150523815 offers his obituary: "Theodore Crozier Holmes, 95, of Portland, died Monday, August 10, 2015 at Maine Medical Center. Born in Wakefield, MA, on March 8, 1920, he was the son of the late Oliver and Martha McCleary Holmes. He received his early education in the schools of Charlotte and Eastport, ME. In the late 1930s, during summer vacations from Shead High School in Eastport, he attended the War Departments Citizens Military Training Camp on Great Diamond Island in Portland. In November 1941, after brief employment with the Social Security Board in Baltimore, and the Department of Agriculture in Washington, DC, he enlisted in the US Army Air Corps, serving principally as an aerial gunnery instructor until his Honorable Discharge in 1945. After World War II, Mr. Holmes continued his education at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, and the University of Maine in Orono. He received BA and MA degrees in history at the University of Maine. Later, he participated in several National Science Foundation summer institutes in mathematics. Mr. Holmes began his career as a Principal-teacher at Dennysville, Maine High School. He taught school in Machias and Lewiston, and was a mathematics teacher at Lincoln Middle School in Portland for 8 years, Portland High School for 18 years, and for 10 years he taught at the Portland Adult Evening School. During his career, he served as Vice President of the Washington County Teachers Association, and in Machias and Portland he was President of Parent-Teacher Associations. In 1981, he received the Walter E. Russell award from the University of Southern Maine for excellence in teaching. In the early 1960s, after felling trees at a family camp in Charlotte, he and his father, using mostly hand tools, constructed a wood replica of the famous sailing yawl, Seabird, which Mr. Holmes sailed locally. For 2 years he served as the treasurer of the Casco Bay Power Squadron, and became a chairman of the Maine chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club canoe committee. He led white water canoe trips and co-led wilderness canoe trips. From 1978 to 1985, he served as a volunteer guide for wilderness canoe trips sponsored by the Maine Audubon Society. Mr. Holmes and his family enjoyed a camp on Gardner Lake in East Machias. He built small sail boats and doll houses for his grandchildren, wrote and published the genealogy of his family and authored other books related to family history. He was a member of the Maine Historical Society, the Maine Genealogy Society, The New England Historic and Genealogy Society, The National Education Association and was a life member of the Cumberland County Teachers Association. For many years he was a member and program chairman of the Greater Portland Chapter of the Maine Genealogy Society. Mr. Holmes was predeceased by his brother, Oliver Holmes, and sisters, Olive Borton and Jacqulyn Hilyard.
