[51880] "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine], 17 November 2017": "Franklin - Austin 'Eddy' Jordan Jr., 64, of Franklin passed away peacefully Nov. 16, 2017, at his childhood home, 'The Farm' in Hancock, with loved ones by his side. He was born June 29, 1953, in Bar Harbor, to the late Austin Eddy Jordan Sr. and Rachael Collen (Blaisdell) Jordan. He leaves behind a daughter, Deirdre R. Potter, her husband, Chris S. Potter, his grandchildren Desirae J. Potter and Tristan C. Potter, a brother Leroy O. Jordan, his wife, Wanda, and a sister, Letitia E. Jordan, all of Hancock, and a son Shain M. Cook of Lamoine. Eddy also leaves behind his faithful dog, Moxie, along with many great friends from Franklin, all over Hancock County and beyond. Eddy was a hard worker who always kept busy. As a young man he worked with his father at Hamilton Station as a groundskeeper. For 40 years he has owned and operated Clean Sweep Chimney Service, a family business that his family will continue. Many knew him as 'The Chimney Guy.' Eddy fought hard battling a rare blood cancer with great care from his brother Leroy and family. During that time letters and prayers from friends and customers poured in daily, full of gratitude for all the great years, praise for quality work and expressing a deep void without him around. When not on his annual chimney route he was cutting firewood, completing jobs around his family farm or working on his camp road. He lived on Georges Pond close to nature, living in a beautiful 'camp' that he had built. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. He loved basketball, especially watching Larry Bird. Eddy had many great friends playing mens slow pitch softball in Ellsworth and then at Kebo playing golf. He was a lifelong Green Bay Packer and Red Sox fan and admirer of the late Dale Earnhardt Sr."
