He was born April 26, 1918, in Lincoln, the son of George and Vera (Farrington) Ireland. George was a veteran of World War II and then went on to work for Canteen Service, Bangor, for 25 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and tinkering in his workshop. George was also very fond of his two dogs, Coco and Lady.
