The deceased was born in Mishawaka Jan. 25, 1913, and on June 2, 1940, married Miss Norma Lucille Frailey in Croton on Hudson, N.Y. They moved to Elkhart from Osceola in 1957. He is survived by his wife and a daughter, Jacqueline of Elkhart; a brother, Kenyon Peiffer of Osceola and a nephew, Frederick Peiffer, also of Osceola. Mr. Peiffer was a World War II veteran, serving in the Navy; and a member of Elkhart Kane Lodge 183, Free and Accepted Masons, and Elkhart Council 79, Royal and Select Masters."

He was born Sept. 17, 1922, in Carlisle, a son of the late Seager Clay Willhide and Florence June (Dunkleberger) Willhide, and was married to the late Helena C. (Wagner) Willhide, who died Sept. 18, 1989. Banks was a US Army veteran and served with the Mars Task Force; Merrill's Marauders in the China-Burma-India Theater of WWII. After the war, he worked many years for the former Kruger's Dairy, Carlisle and then retired from the PA Turnpike. Banks was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, V.F.W. Post 477 and Eagles Aerie 1299, all of Carlisle and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge 1179, Bowmansdale and St. John's Masonic Lodge, Carlisle. He is survived by two sisters; Robie Willhide and Donna Lou McKain (and her husband, Jack Bushey), both of Carlisle, a step-daughter, Dianne (and her husband, William) Kollas of Lemoyne, three grandchildren; Chad (and his wife, Beth) Kollas, Mary Kollas Kennedy and James (and his wife, Tara) Kollas, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Banks was preceded in death by two brothers; Lane and Dean Willhide and one step-son, John P. Blazetic, Jr."
