He was a retired farmer. Mr. Motter was born May 8, 1862, the son of Leonard and Elizabeth Motter. He lived all his life in Leaf River Township. In addition to the daughter with whom he made his home, Motter is survived by another daughter, Mrs. William Ratmeyer, Forreston; and a brother, William, Brookings, S. D. Four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren also survive."
