[28789] Edmund and Annis went to Wells in 1643 after arriving in Boston aboard the "Bevis" perhaps in or before 1638. The Rev. John Wheelright was among the passengers and Edmund belonged to his parish in Exeter (England) in 1630. Annis is daughter of Richard Asten [sic] of Tichfield according to Richard's will (1623, Archdeaconry of Winchester) - see NEHGR 1913, p. 345.

He was born in Orono 3-3-1922 the son of Russell and Maud (Jewett) Getchell Sr. He was married 6-15-1946 to Ruth (Norris) Getchell. He was a graduate of Caribou High School. He had been employed by American Kitchen Foods and Potato Service Inc., as a lead mechanic and supervisor. He served in the US Army during WWII. Surviving besides his wife of Caribou, are 2 sons, Russell III of Caribou and David of Perth-Andover, NB., Canada, 2 daughters, Mrs. Russell (Mary) Gagnon and Mrs. Leonard (Cathie) Grover, both of Caribou, his father of Presque Isle, 2 brothers, Howard of Carlisle, PA., and Robert of Milo, 5 sisters, Mrs. Alice Black of South Windham, Mrs. Fred (Joyce) White of Wallingford, CT., Mrs. Alton (Dorothy) Gustin and Mrs. Philip (Gustie) Pelkey, both of Presque Isle, Mrs. Charles (Louella) Snow of Hampden, 5 grandchildren."
