Elizabeth Acheson (1840-1931) Obituary:

The deceased was a widow of the late William T. Orr, and for many years they lived in the Orr neighborhood, and later in Winterset.
The Rev. Mr. McEldowney, pastor of the Methodist church in Earlham, will conduct her funeral services, which will be held at Tidrick's funeral home, this morning (Thursday) at 11 o'clock, and burial will be in the Winterset cemetery.
In addition to her daughter, she leaves two sons, Maurice of the Oak Grove neighborhood, and Harry Orr of Des Moines.

[another obituary:]
Elizabeth, daughter of Humphrey and Elizabeth Acheson, was born in Guernsey county, Ohio, March 27, 1840.
When she was twelve years old the family came to Muscatine. Her parents died the following year, of cholera, and were buried the same day. After this she had to make her own way and stayed in a number of different homes. She was married, in Muscatine, to William T. Orr, November 10, 1863. To the marriage four children were born. One, a daughter, died in infancy. Those still living are Mrs. Grace Rainey, with whom she made her home, Harry of Des Moines, and Maurice of Winterset.
They came to Madison county in 1868, and soon after moved to a farm south of Winterset, in the Ord neighborhood, where they made their home for a number of years. They moved to Wayne county, Iowa, in 1880 and lived there for ten years. They then returned to Winterset where they made their home until the death of Mr. Orr in 1912.
Mrs. Orr remained in Winterset until she came with her daughter to Earlham in 1920, where she has since made her home. She was converted when a young girl and became a member of the United Presbyterian church. After her husband's conversion in the early 80's they both united with the Methodist church. She was a faithful member of the church through all her years. When 84 years old she transferred her membership to the Methodist church in Earlham.
The end of her earth life came on February 10, 1931, at the age of 90 years, 10 months, and 14 days. She leaves besides her children, six grandchildren and many friends.
