[8531] "Shelby Chapter of The Ohio Genealogy Society, Shelby, Ohio" offers at http://rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ohscogs/FarmersFarmingHistory/FarmFarmingHistory.html in 2010 (paraphrased from an original collection of biographies titled "Shelby Farmers" appearing in the 1907 Shelby Globe): "Valley C. Keck. Lives 1-1/2 miles south of Shelby on R.R.#6. He was born in Perry County Pennsylvania, September 3, 1863. His father William and mother Elizabeth were both natives of the Keystone State and raised a family of 4 children. In 1885, Valley Keck came to Ohio and worked for Mr. Lantz until 1888 when he struck out on his own. In the spring of 1880 he married Etta Sharick a county native. They have 1 boy and live on an 80 acre farm. He and his wife are members of the Reform Church, and he is a School Director in his district."
