Born July 12, 1938, in Dexter, the second son of Doran and Katherine (Wingate) Nuite. He graduated from Piscataquis Community High School in 1956 and the University Maine with Bachelor of Science degree in animal science, in 1960. Graham was a member of South Sangerville Grange and Abner Wade Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years. He enjoyed gardening, genealogy, human and bovine, traveling, dancing, and long hours shooting the breeze about cows, politics and local history. Graham was one who always wanted to be where the action was, and, when he got there, it was clear he and his irreverent wit had arrived. Graham is survived by two daughters, Brenda Nuite and Jay Esty of Neenah, Wis., and Janice and Kenneth Gatchell of Dexter; three grandchildren, Heather Plungy, Lyman and Sara Bill; two great-granddaughters, Madison and Lilly Plungy; brother, Wilson Nuite; sister, Barbara and David Lockwood; many nephews and nieces. Graham was predeceased by his elder brother, Bradley, in 2004."

[20654] Samuel returned from military service in the War Between the States to work in his father's shipyard. He drowned with his shipmates off the Magdalen Islands.

He had [a] son with Susannah Yeaton on March 2, 1760. He died on April 7, 1795, in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, at the age of 61. . . . Susannah Yeaton was born in July 1738 in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. . . . She died on April 16, 1775, in Wells, Maine, at the age of 36."

Brooksville, ME in "The Folk From Majorbigwaduce," Vol.II (volume 974.1 t C35-L in Maine State Library) who gives his wife as Rebecca and their children as John (b. 15 Feb 1808), Mary Weeks (b. 20 March 1811), Rachel (b. 25 Jan 1814), Chas. William Hall (b.10 Jan 1817), William (b. 25 June 1821), Rebecca (b. 13 March 1823) and Albion K. Paris (b.21 Nov 18__) - and perhaps older children - per "a Brooksville record," which also gives his 6 Jan 1799 marriage to Rebecca Weaver. AEM believes this Josiah may instead be a grandson of Nathaniel Stover and Mary Weeks. Castine, ME VR lists a Josiah Stover, "husband of Mrs. Alis Donnell," as died 30 July 1776; they are parents of Elizabeth Stover in this database, wife of Jonathan Hatch.
