Mim was a long standing member of First Baptist Church, Dexter, where she served as deaconness and member of the Elizabeth Towle Guild. Mim was a member of the West Ripley Extension for 45 years. She and Herbie owned and operated the 45th Parallel Restaurant. In addition to her husband of 63 years, she is survived by her children, Brent R. Brooks and wife, Sherry, of Newport and Herbert "Butch" Brooks Jr. and wife, Brenda, of Dexter; stepdaughter, Shirley Patterson and husband, David, of Dexter; grandchildren, Brandee, Rachel and Kelcy Brooks; stepgrandchildren, David, Joel, Samantha, Randy, Richard, Warren, Mark, Johnathan, Victoria and Kimberly; several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Rodney Hutchins."
