Herbert Fitz Herbert, son and heir of Herbert of Winchester (Chamberlain and Treasurer under William II and Henry I; held lands in Hampshire in 1086 and later in Bedfordshire, Hampshire, Gloucester and Yorkshire) by his wife Emma of Blois ("natural" dau. of Stephen, Count of Blois, ID1499). Herbert Fitz Herbert is brother of St. William Fitz Herbert, Archbishop of York (d. 1154). Sibyl Corbet was Lady of Alcester, Warwickshire and of Pontesbury and Woodcote, co. Salop. He is also known as Rainald de Dunstanville - see http://www.thepeerage.com/p5235.htm which provides a different spouse.

http://www.geneajourney.com/nrmndy.html offers: "He is called Reynold de Dunstanville by Complete Peerage, but Mr. Douglas Richardson disagrees with this nomenclature, stating that he has never seen him referred to as "de Dunstanville" in any official early records or contemporary sources. He is, however, occasionally referred to as "de Mortain", but this is in reference to land he held by right of his wife, whose mother was a daughter of Robert de Mortain. He was one of the 14 illegitimate children by King Henry I, by various mistresses, one of whom being Sibyl Corbet, who was his mother. He married Mabel (called Beatrice in CP), the daughter of William Fitz Richard, a holder of large estates in Cornwall. About Apr 1141, Reginald was created Earl of Cornwall, probably by the Empress Maud, but his title was fully recognized subsequently by King Stephen. He was a witness to the compromise between Stephen and Henry in 1153, and served as Sheriff of Devon from 1173 to 1175. In Oct 1173, he was in command against the rebellious Barons. He died without male issue, whence the earldom reverted to the Crown."

[9797] Daniel had come to Waynesville, OH in 1845. After their marriage they moved in March, 1852 to near Eddyville, Mahaska Co., IA. In the spring of 1857 they moved by covered wagon drawn by oxen reaching Oskaloosa, OK June 10, 1857 - see "Briner Family History," Forrest D. Myers and Jerry A. Clouse (Harrisburg, PA: 1984), p. 570. "The Jefferson County Tribune [Oskaloosa, Kansas], 20 April 1917," p. 1: "Grandma Amanda Briner died Wednesday noon at the home of her son, Sylvester Briner, northwest of town, after an illness of several weeks. Death was caused by old age and dropsy. The funeral services are to be held today at the Methodist church at 2:30 o'clock and interment will be in the Pleasant View cemetery beside her husband who preceded her in death some years ago. Grandma Briner was one of Oskaloosa's good citizens and during her sixty years of residence here made friends of all with whom she came in contact. Of a cheerful nature she was always a welcome guest at the homes and in public. Up to the last she retained her faculties and her mind was clear almost to the last. Monday her brother, Isaac Griffin of Terre Haute, Ind., whom she had not seen in forty years, came and Grandma immediately recognized his voice in an adjoining room. She would have been 85 years of age her next birthday, December 25th, Christmas Day. She leaves two sons, Sylvester and George of Oskaloosa; and two daughters, Mrs. W. H. Pottorf of Oskaloosa, and Mrs. S. R. Walker of Stillwater, Okla., and a brother, Isaac Griffin of Terre Haute, Ind., and a sister Mrs. Lydia Harding of Chicago, to mourn her departure."

[42152] Tim graduated from MCI High School and entered the Air Force, and served in the Air National Guard. Later he worked in construction, specializing in running heavy equipment. In 1964 he became a Maine Game Warden and later as a pilot for the Maine Warden Service in northern Maine, retiring in 1984. He had a passion for flying and with a friend built two airplanes. He fished and caught lobsters for many years, hauling traps until 2014. "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine], 24 January 2017": "Blue Hill - Roland (Tim) Adrian Tarr, 80, of Blue Hill, died peacefully surrounded by his wife and children at his home on Jan. 17, 2017. Tim was born Sept. 7, 1936, in Glenburn and spent his youth in central Maine, where he played fullback for MCI High School. Upon graduation, he entered the Air Force and served in the Air National Guard, thus fueling his love of flying. After his service, he worked in construction, specializing in running heavy equipment. In 1959, he married his sweetheart Gloria Edith (Glavine). They were married for 57 years and had six children. In 1964, Tim began his career as a Maine game warden, working on the Blue Hill Peninsula and later as a pilot for the Maine Warden Service in northern Maine. He thoroughly enjoyed serving as a game warden and accumulated and retold countless stories with a twinkle in his eyes, of the 'ones that got away,' poachers, and rescues of people and animals in danger. He was known for being fair, respectful, and persistent, being a good marksman, and was most proud that he never pulled or used his service revolver during altercations or arrests. He retired in 1984. Tim and a friend built two airplanes for personal use, which flew him all over Maine. His flight stories included dropping food bundles at a Boy Scout campsite, finding remote fishing holes, visiting family and simply enjoying the beauty of Maine. This passion for flying and fishing along with his love of animals was shared with his children and grandchildren. He bought his first commercial fishing boat in 1979 and later built another boat aptly named the Gloria E. Over the years he fished according to the season: scalloping, shrimping, tuna fishing and lobstering; he continued hauling traps until 2014. He is survived by his devoted wife, Gloria, and their six children: Tracey Tarr with Jay Witcher; Michelle Lamprell with Jeff Karcher; Michael Tarr and wife, Beth-Ellen Tarr-Edwards; David and wife, Joyce Tarr; Heidi Tarr and husband, Tim Hagelin; Holli Tarr and husband, Matt Hinderliter. He was 'Poppy' to his 12 grandchildren: Simon (and wife, Mouna), Timmy, and Samantha Lamprell; Stephen and Tyler Tarr; Ellenore, Grace, Ruth, and Margaret Tarr; Elsa Molarsky; Katherine and Margaret Hinderliter; and one great-grandson, Adam Lamprell."
