[1486] http://home.wxs.nl/~voort359/home3vlaan.html remarks: "Arnulf was about four years old when he became heir to the County, and he was of course unable to organise resistance to King Lotharius IV of West-Francia who occupied the whole of Flanders to reestablish his authority over these lands, which was probably not quite what the late Arnulf "The Great"'s had intented in his will, see above. The Count's authority was seriously diminished, and many local lords in Flanders became semi-independant. Ghent fell into the hands of Count Dirk II of Holland. After Arnulf's death, his widow Rozala married Robert II "The Pious", King of France in 988, but was rejected by him in 995."

[5725] Baron Zouche of Ashby, Governor of Rockingham Castle [per Carr P. Collins, "Royal Ancestors of Magna Charta Barons" (Dallas, 1959), p. 256]. Alan fought in Gascony and Scotland during the reign of Edward I, and in 1311 became Governor of Rockingham Castle in Northamptonshire and was Stewart of the Rockingham Forest. The Cahill Family web site at Ancestry World Tree in 2004 lists another daughter, Elizabeth la Zouche, b. ca. 1298, d. after 1332, wife of Oliver de Ingham (b. 1287 and of Ellesmere, Shropshire, son of John de Ingham and Margery), and states that Elizabeth and Oliver had Joan de Ingham (b. 1330 in Shropshire, wife of Roger le Strange [son of John le Strange and Isolda de Ellesmere]).
