He was one of the coheirs of his maternal uncle, William Ufford, Earl of Suffolk, inheriting great wealth thereby. He died Aug. 9, 1396. He married three times, but William, the 5th Lord, was son of his first wife, Alice Skipwith, daughter of John Skipwith of Colthorpe (son of Sir William Skipwith, Chief Baron of the Exchequer) by his wife Alice Tiney, daughter of Sir Frederick Tilney of Boston, co. Lincoln."
