Sargent, 72, of Athens, Tenn., and Bar Harbor passed away April 20, 2014, at home surrounded by his family. He was born June 14, 1941, to Norman and Florence (Drew) Sargent of Eddington. Larry grew up in Eddington and graduated from Bangor High School in 1960. He married the love of his life, Judith Diane (Kidder) Sargent, in March 1962. In addition to his wife of 52 years he is survived by his three children, Heidi Trefethen and her companion, Calvin Atwood, of Cleveland, Tenn.; Nancy Tibbetts and her husband, Jerry, of Sevierville, Tenn.; and Norman Sargent and his wife, Michelle, of Athens, Tenn. Papa will be sadly missed by grandchildren - Douglas, Naomi, Courtney, Jasmine, Isaiah, Julia and his sidekick Kolten. 'Pop Pop,' 'Larry the Train,' 'Grampie Larry' will be missed dearly by his seven great-grandchildren. Larry was also survived by two sisters, Sandra Jean and Linda; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends. Larry had many fond memories over the many years he worked at Mount Desert Yacht Yard and always had a story to tell with which he entertained many people. After retiring, he wished every day to be back at the boat yard and often dreamed of being there."
