[31466] Ancestry.com offers: "Hall Name Meaning - English, Scottish, Irish, German, and Scandinavian: from Middle English hall (Old English heall), Middle High German halle, Old Norse holl all meaning 'hall' (a spacious residence), hence a topographic name for someone who lived in or near a hall or an occupational name for a servant employed at a hall. In some cases it may be a habitational name from places named with this word, which in some parts of Germany and Austria in the Middle Ages also denoted a salt mine. The English name has been established in Ireland since the Middle Ages, and, according to MacLysaght, has become numerous in Ulster since the 17th century."

She was a 1972 graduate of Cedar Cliff High School, Camp Hill and earned a B.S. in Education from Penn State Harrisburg. Marta was a devoted member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Highland Park, Camp Hill for more than 60 years, where she was confirmed, served numerous terms on church council, and tended to the flower beds. She was a cheerleader for the church youth group and was proud to help with the spaghetti dinner for many years. More than anything, her family meant everything to her. She loved being a grandmother, mother and adoring wife; she was an excellent cook; and she delighted in quiet acts of kindness towards others for her entire life. Marta was born in Carlisle, PA, the daughter of the late James and Margery (Reisinger) Nelson. In addition to her parents, Marta was preceded in death by a granddaughter Lilian Felici, a sister Marni McNichol and a brother Mark Nelson. She is survived by her husband of more than 42 years, Randy L. Hamme; two daughters, Revs. Jessica L. Felici (Jason) of Latrobe, PA and Katie L. Yeager (Michael) of Lewisberry; sister, Patrice Tritt (Bill) of New Tripoli; brother-in-law, John (Erin) McNichol; five grandchildren, Emma, Elijah and Noah Felici and Ryleigh and Mikenzie Yeager; a sister-in-law, Tina (Mike) Mueller; and many beloved nieces and nephews."
