"The Perry County Times [Bloomfield, PA], 30 June 1921": "Ex County Commissioner A.K. Bryner, one of the best known citizens of this county, died at his home at Cisna Run, Sunday morning, after a brief illness due to acute indigestion. He had been aflicted with stomach trouble for some years past, but it was not considered serious. Sunday morning he appeared to be in his usual health when about 7 o'clock he was seized with indigestion. His condition at once became serious and a physican was summoned. Treatment was administered, but he failed to rally and passed out about 9 o'clock. Albert K. Bryner was a son of the late George M. and Fanny (Peck) Bryner, was born at Elliotsburg, September 21, 1854 and at his death was aged 66 years, 9 months, and 5 days. As a young man he learned the trade of wagonmaking and wa associated with his brother, the late Theodore M. Bryner, at Cisna Run, who conducted a blacksmith shop. Later they both retired from their business and were associated with lumbering operations in the upper end of the county until the death of Theodore, the past year, since which time Mr. Bryner has been completing the work.
The decesed was a Republican and one of the most influential in his section of the county. In 1896, he was elected a County Commissioner and served acceptably his term of three years. He was affillated with the Presbyterian Church at Centre. Mr. Bryner was a man of affairs and deeply interested in all that contributed to the uplift of the community. He was a man of highest integerity and his sudden death is a severe blow to the community in which he lived. He is survived by his widow, Mary Rice, daughter of the late Jeremiah Rice, Tyrone township, and the following children; Harold E. Bryner, State Forester, of Blain; Mrs. Hattie Bryner Hohenshildt, of Loysville; Mrs. Nellie Bryner White, of Asbury Park and Mrs. Waggoner, of Harrisburg; A brother Ira L. Bryner, of Pasadena, Calf., also survives, who was visiting East at the time of his brother's death."
[1169] Jeanne Kline (jeanne_kline@earthlink.net) shared via email in June, 2003: The marriage of Hannah and Joseph is in the unclassified section of "The Doane Family", Vol. 1, by Alfred Alder Doane. Jeanne believes Hannah to be related to Ebenezer, son of Ephraim Doane who was in the Buckfield area of ME in 1739. Also see "A History of Buckfield, Oxford County, Maine, from the Earliest Explorations. . . ," Alfred Cole & Charles Foster Whitman, p. 605.
