Corrine's obituary: "Long-time Lake Winola resident Corinne (Ronnie) Rayannic, 87, passed away in Fort Myers, Fla., on April 22, 2009, after a brief illness.
Ronnie was known for her sweet nature and good sense of humor. She loved to read, knit, crochet and garden. Born Corona Giovanna Pontorollo on October 13, 1921, in New York City, her family later moved to the Raritan, N.J., area. There she met and married her husband, Walter, from Meshoppen, in 1958. In 1960 they purchased the "Lake View Market" (the Penny Candy Store) at Lake Winola, and ran the business together for over 40 years. She will be dearly missed by all of her loved ones. She is fondly remembered as "Nona" by her two grandchildren Philip, 24, and Kathryn, 20, and great-grandchild Nicholas, 1, all residing in Fort Myers area. She is also survived by her brother Jack, his wife Lucy and their three children, Lucy, Jack and Jamie; daughter-in-law Sandra Rayannic-Acosta, plus many nieces and nephews.
Preceeding her in death was her son, Walter S. Rayannic, in 1992, and her husband, Walter A. Rayannic, in 2002. Services will be held at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, Lake Winola, on Monday, June 29, at 10 a.m., with internment services at the Fairview Cemetery, Dalton, immediately after. - Published in The Wyoming County Examiner from June 17 to June 23, 2009."
