She married John Harding on February 13, 1837, in Charlestown, Massachusetts. They had two children during their marriage. She died as a young mother on April 30, 1842, in Charlestown, Massachusetts, at the age of 25."

He was born Feb. 4, 1898, in Ashland County to the late William and Elizabeth Garst Paullin and was a lifelong Ashland County resident. Mr. Paullin was retired from Cresco Manufacturing and was a self-employed furniture refinisher. He was a member of the First Methodist Church and the Ashland City Club. Surviving are his wife, Ethel Kinney Paullin; two sons, Clayton and Dale, both of Ashland; one stepson, Dick McClure of Canton; one stepdaughter, Helen Fox of Toledo; seven grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Fay Fierbaugh of Ashland. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sylvia June Crumlick Paullin. who died in 1951."
