[39713] George m. (2) Lehana J. Brown Evans on 16 Jan 1899. Ancestry.com offers: "Maurer Name Meaning - German and Jewish (Ashkenazic): occupational name for a builder of walls of stone or brick, from an agent derivative of Middle High German mure, German Mauer 'wall' (from Latin murus 'wall', especially a city wall). In the Middle Ages the majority of dwellings were built of wood (or lath and plaster), and this term would have specifically denoted someone employed in building defensive walls, castles, churches, and other public buildings."

[46798] David's obituary 10 March 1928 from "The West Schuylkill Press" and "Pine Grove Herald": "Dr. David S. Moyer, for the past 45 years a doctor in Donaldson, passed away at his residence on Thursday at 6 o'clock, at the age of 75 years. He had been in ill health for a number of years and was bedfast since Christmas. Before practicing in Donaldson, Dr. Moyer spent five years as a physician in Friedensburg. He was a graduate of the Jefferson Medical College in 1878, and was a classmate and very intimate friend of the late Dr. Bittle. He was a member and elder of the Reformed Church of Donaldson. Besides the widow , four children survive. The are Mrs. Henry Hatter, Shamokin, Mrs.Austin Keiser, Jenkintown, and Mrs. Lincoln English, Donaldson, and one son, Dr. D. Bruce Moyer of Lansdale." He was a member of Salem German Reformed Church, Donaldson, Frailey Township, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, and one of the windows in the church was donated by Dr and Mrs D.S. Moyer. He had served as President of the township school board.
