[25101] NEGHR for July, 1917, p. 238 states that Ralph "married first Anne Sandys, eldest daughter of William; and secondly Maud Sutton, daughter of Sir John, Knight, who married secondly Roger de Berbers and died in 1354-5. Ralph Jocelyn succeeded his brother Thomas about 1284, and had livery of his father's lands in Oct. 1297, having proved his age. . . . Ralph Jocelyn held court at Shellow-Bowels in 1298. On 8 oct 1302 he held one and a half knight's fees in Shellow and Sawbridgworth. In 1309 was was a commissioner to collect a tax in Hertfordshire, for the was with Scotland. He was living 24 Feb 1313." Jeffrey is his son by Maud Sutton.
