He was born in Sedgwick July 28, 1922, the son of Melvin and Mazie (Gray) Closson. He was a member of the Ellsworth Full Gospel Church, Halcyon Grange; a registered Maine guide; caretaker for the Gallien Estate for many years. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Wayne Whitmore; two grandchildren, Michelle and Lawrence Whitmore, all of Gorham; a sister, Barbara Sherwood of Orland; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Ellsworth Full Gospel Church, State Street, with the Rev. James Heard officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Blue Hill."
