"The Snyder County Pioneers," Dr. Charles A. Fisher (Selinsgrove, PA, 1938), p. 89, calls him Lieutenant. "Genealogy of the Meyer Family," Henry Meyer (Cleveland, Ohio: Lauer & Mattill, 1890), p.42 describes Philip as "heavy built, muscular and active, but not as tall as his brothers. He was a noted wrestler... For many years he was a supervisor of Miles township... was a consistent member of the Reformed Church...." Philip married and first lived near Freeburg, but moved to Brush Valley in 1802, settling on a tract about a mile east of Wolf's Store. [cf.
