[1579] http://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/NORWAY.htm offers: "Harald Eriksson (-killed in battle Limfiord near Hals, Jylland [965]). Snorre names (in order) 'Gamle the oldest, then Guthorm, Harald, Ragnfrod, Ragnhild, Erling, Gudrod and Sigurd Sleva' as the children of King Eirik & his wife. The 'Historia Norwegie' names 'Haraldum…Grafeld' as oldest son of 'Ericus . . . Blothex' & his wife. According to Snorre, in [955] he was adopted as foster son by Harald King of Denmark who 'set him on his knee', which implies that Harald was not yet an adult at the time. He defeated and killed his uncle in battle and succeeded him in 960 as Harald II 'Gråfeld/Greyskin' King of Norway. According to Snorre, his nickname was earned after he bought a grey skin from a trader from Iceland, all his retainers following his example. He was killed in battle by Harald 'Guld-Harald' of Denmark who was plotting to become King of Norway." Cf. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harald_II_of_Norway.

[40565] Find A Grave Memorial 14645731 offers: "From the book, Akron and Summit County by Karl Grismer - written in the early 1900's: John B. Woods was born in Springfield Township Dec. 17, 1823, a son of Samuel and Sophia (Boal) Woods. In his early manhood he opened a general store at Uniontown and later established a tannery. In 1850 he bought the Millheim flouring mill and in 1856 leased the Tritt Mill which he ran successfully for several years. In 1860 Mr. Woods sold his mercantile and milling inertest, came to Akron and in 1862 built a three story brick block on the North West corner of Market and Main streets. In 1864 he founded the Exchange Bank, in 1867 the City Bank and in 1883, The City National Bank. He served as president of the City National until he resigned in Oct., 1890. On March 26, 1848, he was married to Susan Willis of Stark County. They had six children: Emily Jane (Mrs. Robert L. Andrew): Frank, Perry, John B., Albert T., and Mary H." From Vivian M. (nee Myers) Harig: "The Woods family came from CT. and settled in Hudson, OH area. J. B. Woods was 14 years old when both his parents died of some disease leaving him with finding his own way in life." The 1860 federal census in Uniontown, Lake Twp., Stark Co., OH lists John and his family.
