[3789] "The Carolingians," Pierre Riché (Philadelpha: U of PA Press, 1993), Table 2, states that he and Anstrude also had Hugh, Bishop of Rouen (d. 730). http://www.mythopedia.info/ancestry-charlemagne.htm offers: "Drogon, count of Champagne, born 674 Herstal, married Anstrude Adeltrude, born 676 [out of which marriage Arnulf, prince of Champagne, born 700 Champagne, died 723; Hugues, archbishop of Rouen, born 700 Champagne, died 8-4-730]." [29396] The unverified file in http://awt.ancestry.com offers: "On Sir John's death his son John Barrington succeeded to the estates. He seems to have been the first of the family who spelt the name with a G in it. He had from King Edward the Third in the 49th year of his reign, letters patent confirming to him all his grants, that his ancestors had received from Kings Henry the First, Stephen, Henry the Second, and Henry the Third, of the office of woodward and forester of Hatfield, as held originally under William de Montfichet and also of all the lands held under the Crown in Hatfield, Writtle, and elsewhere, reserving to the King an annual rent of seventeen shillings. This patent is not now to be found. John married Alice one of the daughters and (after her brother's death) coheirs of Thomas Battail son of Sir John Battail of Ongar Park, Knight and of his wife Elizabeth the dole daughter and heir of Sir Thomas Enfield of High Laver. John Barrington had three sons Thomas, Humphrey, and Edward, and two daughters, Elizabeth, married to John Sulyard, and Lettice, to Chicksey. He died about the year 1426, and was succeeded by hs eldest son, Thomas."

[34287] Augustus is from the unverified Higgins Family Tree in Ancestry.com in 2013.
[1682] Dirk I is son or grandson of Haghen, Count of Aquitaine (uncle of Charles the Bald of France and son of Walter, Count of Teisterbant). Encyclopaedia Britannica (1956; 11:668) states that the county was founded by "Rorik, of Norman origin, ...in 862. His successor Gerulf, to whom the German king Arnulf in 889 granted some possessions and rights in the region between the Rhine and Swithardeshaga..., may be considered the first count of Holland, notwithstanding the doubt that may be felt about his being the father of Dirk I, whom tradition long held to be the first count." http://www.royalancestorscollins.com/italy.htm names him Theodoric I, 1st Count of Holland and Zealand, Lord of Friesland. http://www.geerts.com/holland/holland-1.htm offers: "In 922 Charles the Simple gave in full possession to a Count in Frisia, Dirk (a shortened form of Diederic, Latin Theodoricus), the church of Egmont with all that belonged to it from Swithardeshage to Kinhem. This man, usually known as Dirk I, died about 939 and was succeeded by his son of the same name. Dirk (Diederic) of West Friesland Count of Holland born about 900 Noordwijk-Binnen, died 6 October 939, buried Egmond-Binnen, married with Geva (Gerberge) Duchess of Friesland Countess of Holland, born 879 Egmond-Binnen, died 11 January 911 Egmond-Binnen."
