Doug Thompson (http://freespace.virgin.net/doug.thompson/BraoseWeb) states "Humphrey held Hay castle, Huntington castle and borough through the inheritance of Eleanor. He was a commander at Lewes and Evesham, where he was captured. He died on 27 August 1265 at Beeston Castle of wounds sustained at the battle of Evesham and was buried in Combermere, Cheshire."

"The News Leader [Staunton, Virginia], 8 April 1989," p. 2: "Vida A. Halladay, 96, of 1260 Chatham Road, Waynesboro, died Thursday afternoon (April 6, 1989) at Waynesboro Community Hospital. She was born Oct. 6, 1892 in Bedford, Ohio, a daughter of George and Alda (Heichel) Wells. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard K. Halladay, April 26, 1973. She was a member of the Waynesboro Seventh Day Adventist Church. Survivors include one foster son, John M. Beach of Orlando, Fla.; and one sister, Josephine Thurber of Waynesboro. A service will be conducted 4 p.m. Sunday by the Rev. Merle J. Whitney at McDow Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at noon Monday at the Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Brentwood, Md."
