The unverified Stegen Family Tree in Ancestor.com in 2013 includes this information:
"'George Allen: a Biographical Sketch,' by the Rev. James Bradbury Mitchell, 2008 -
"George Allen was born about 1568 under the reign of Queen Elizabeth. He was probably a farmer near Bridgewater in Somersetshire and was a member of a company which set sail from Weymouth, England March 20, 1635 for New England along with Katherine, his wife and children George, William, Matthew and servant, Edward Poole.
"They arrived in Boston, Massachusetts on May 6, 1635 and soon settled in Saugus, now Lynn, Massachusetts in 1636 and the following year, joined with Edmund Freeman and others in the purchase of lands which became incorporated in the Town of Sandwich, Massachusetts. When Sandwich was incorporated in 1637, Allen was among the oldest in the town. He was chosen first deputy, the first officer of the town, and he served in that capacity for several years.
'In 1638, although he was by belief, an Anabaptist, a religious minority, he and ten other townsmen organized the Sandwich church, and he was admitted a freeman of the town by the Plymouth Colony Court on June 30, 1639. He had a great civic spirit, was elected constable of the town and also served as surveyor of highways.
"In 1641, he was a member of the committee to divide the meadow lands, he, himself, receiving six and one quarter acres. But by 1644, Allen was one who found that he still needed more haying land, for according to the Plymouth Colony records for August 20, 1644:, 'George Allen of Sandwich is licensed to cut hay at the ponds beyond Sandwich plains, so he give not the Indians anything for that without approbation of the Bench.'
"He built a house in 1646 one quarter mile from the meeting house that was strill in good repair two hundred years later, finally being taken down in 1882.
'He died in Sandwich on May 2, 1648, and his wife, Katherine survived him and married John Collins with whom she moved to Boston."

[20204] "Biographical Encyclopedia of the Juniata Valley comprising counties of Huntingdon, Mifflin, Juniata and Perry, PA. 1887," p. 975 offers: "Jessie Rice, deceased, was one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of Spruce Hill township, Juniata county, PA, and was born June 14, 1814, in that portion of Turbett township which is now Spruce Hill. He was a son of George and Catherine (Ginrich) Rice. George Rice, born in Chester county, PA, in 1770, removed to Perry county, settling in Madison township, where he purchased a farm, near the Bixler dam, on which he remained for some years. He then removed to Juniata county, settling in what is now Spruce Hill township, where he purchased a tract of land of 108 acres, on which he erected buildings. He was married to Miss Catharine Ginrich, of Chester county. Their children were: Mary, was married to a Mr. Wilson; John, deceased; William, deceased; George, deceased; Catharine (Mrs. Henry Kepner); Sarah (Mrs., Samuel Rice), deceased; Benjamin; Jesse; and Zachariah, of Illinois. George Rice, in politics, was a Democrat. He was a member of the Lutheran church. His death occurred January 3, 1841; his wife also died in Spruce Hill township. Jesse Rice received his education in the township schools of the period, but richly informed his mind by extensive and varied reading. He commenced life on the farm with his father. At the death of the latter, Jesse obtained possession of the homestead farm, also purchasing another farm soon after. By industry, economy and the exercise of a rare good judgment in all his business transactions, his means continued to increase until, at the time of his death, he was the owner of five farms in the county, besides large investments in other directions. Jesse Rice married, in Spruce Hill township, Miss Margaret Rice, daughter of John Rice, of Turbett township. They had two children, both of whom died in infancy. In politics Mr. Rice was a staunch Republican. He was a consistent member of the Lutheran church. His death occurred in 1894, has wife having died in 1891."
