He was born in Rockland Me to Charles and Alice (Small) on Sept. 12, 1921. He graduated from Rockport High School in 1940. He served in the US Army during WWII as a tank commander in Germany. He married Hazel Dearborn on Oct. 31, 1942. He worked as a carpenter for many years and retired from Camden Health Care Center where he worked in the maintenance department. He was a life time member of the Rockport Fire Department where he held several different offices including Fire Chief. He was a avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by 3 Daughters: Shirley Beal and Fiance Harold Dow of Corinth, Mary Grover of Sabattus, and Barbara Marston of Gray; 3 Grandchildren: Donald Welch and his wife Amanda of Calhoun, GA, Jason Grover and wife Susana of Bristol RI, Angela Grover and Fiance Cliff Conway of New Gloucester, ME; 4 Great Grandchildren, Nicholas and Sebastian Grover and Destiny and Ayden Welch. He is also survived by a Sister, Helen Chater of Camden and a Brother Kenneth Marston and wife Julie of Leesburg FL and Union ME, and several Nieces and Nephews. Predeceased by his Wife, Hazel. Brother, Maurice Marston and Sister, Beatrice Phillips."

Sanders was born on January 5, 1927, in Butler, Indiana, the son of Lawrence Ralph and Edith (Harry) Sanders. He married Norma E. Shearer on February 7, 1948, in Bryan, and she survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Thomas Sanders of Bryan, and Steven (Cheryl) Sanders of Jacksonville, Florida; one daughter, Nancy (Samuel) Baker of Holgate, Ohio; three grandchildren, Jason, Jamie and Adam Sanders; three stepgrandchildren, Stephanie, Sarah and Steven Wicks; and four great-grandchildren, Jenna, Spencer and Ellianna Sanders and Gage Ridenour. Fred graduated from Monson Academy in 1959 and attended both the Maine Central Institute and the Maritime Forestry Ranger School. In 1962, he began a lifelong career in logging. He worked for his father, and then started his own business in 1972 as an independent woods contractor, where he worked for 27 years. He then worked for the E D Bessey & Son Log Yard until his retirement. In his retirement, Fred served as the fire warden and road commissioner for Willimantic for many years. Fred was an avid reader, hunter, and outdoorsman. He loved duck hunting with friends and family, and enjoyed time spent at the family camp on Greenwood Pond. He is survived by his wife, Charyl 'Prudy' Turner; his daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Kevin Howe, and Amy and Steve Cain; and brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Cindy Turner. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Neil Turner."
