[3109] Samuel married in 1700 "and raised a family of four boys and they seemed to be natural mechanics. They had a grist mill and blacksmith shop. They were cabinet makers, gunsmiths, and were useful men in the vicinity, always ready to lay their hands to any kind of work. These industrious boys each raised families of their own." - "The Brillharts of America," by J. A. Brillhart, pp. 17-18.

[58496] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 15 January 2025: "Bucksport - Robin Peter 'RP' Holyoke passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025. He was born on March 31, 1953, in Bangor, the son of Marilyn and John 'Pete' Holyoke. Robin attended Brewer High School, where he played basketball, track, and football. He was inducted into the Brewer Athletic Hall of Fame with his 1970 State Championship Football team, coached by Ken Perrone. After high school, Robin worked alongside his father and special uncle, Bud Young, in the concrete foundation business known as Holyoke and Young. He later went on to become the owner of RP Holyoke and Sons. His legacy of hard work and 'can do' spirit lives on through his sons. All that knew Robin, knew he was one of a kind, appreciating the simple life in his own unique way. He spent his time enjoying the outdoors hunting, fishing, trapping and going to camp. He was proud to become a Registered Master Maine guide. In addition to outdoor recreation, RP had a love for gathering with friends and family, and hosting music nights at "the cabin." Throughout his life Robin made many friends, too numerous to name all, from the mountains in Dedham to North Carolina. He could often be found cooking over an open fire, or tending to his gardens. He spent countless hours canning, cooking for others, and reminiscing on fond memories. He had a knack for storytelling and a way of making everyone laugh. With his craftsmanship and dedicated skill, there wasn't anything he couldn't build or fix. Robin will be remembered as hard working, a loyal friend, and a true Bald Mountain Boy. From a very dear friend, 'Robin had a loving heart. If he loved you, you were lucky, because he loved you unconditionally.' He was predeceased by his parents, Marilyn and Pete Holyoke; the mother of his children, Ellen (Dresser) Holyoke; his son, Christopher "Tiffah" Harris Holyoke; and his brother, Don Holyoke. He is survived by his sons, Jamie and wife, Erin, Jesse and wife, Lindsay, and Nate and partner, Amanda; his siblings, Kelly Fitzpatrick and Mark Holyoke; his grandchildren, Trentyn and Gavyn, Samuel and Ayda, Evelyn and Everett, Mason and Emma, and Kennedy and Jack; his great-grandson, Westyn; along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family."
